| Festival de La Cerveza(I wasn't sure whether to put this in Fiestas, Places & Events or in La Comida.) - Quote :

| Thanks to Jacki, by way of Michoacán_Net, we learn more about the Festival de Cerveza. The websites, at least two, don't seem to give much real info. But Jacki relates that the event will take place in El Palacio De Los Artes, a big round building near Soriana, on the east end of Avenida Camelinas.
We may be able to attend this on the Sunday, as we'll be in Morelia for a baptism on Saturday. | |

| I saw a number of folks at Palacio del Arte sampling the brews. Don't want to go naming names but there were a few from this site, some Morelianos and some Pátzcuaro-ites. The Cuevas clan too perhaps? _________________ "There is no route out of the maze. The maze shifts as you move through it because it is alive. " — Philip K. Dick (VALIS)

| We went to the Beer Festival. It was kind of underwhelming. First booth (Pueblilla) we visited forgot the opener and were opening bottles with keys. (I bet they could have sent someone to Soriana to buy an opener.) Their beer wasn't worth waiting for anyway.
Stopped by the La Belga booth. They have a place in Colonia Roma Norte, México DF that's near where we stay. Extensive menu of beers, but I have no idea of what I drank as the background noise was so loud I couldn't understand what the Belga host was saying.
My capacity for beer is limited so I only went to 3 booths. The last booth was the unmissable Schmucker's Bier from Germany. I enjoyed the cerveza oscura. I found the prices, $50 pesos a bottle, beyond my budget or interest, so we left without buying any to take home.
As we left, I got some photos of the TelCel dancing girls. That was the highlight of the Beer Festival for me. Then said hola to Peter as we went to Soriana.
I have a few photos of the event, but really nothing so interesting that they're worth uploading. Maybe we should have gone to the Feria instead, but our tolerance for crowds, and especially heat is very low.
Sent via iPod touch. Edited on a MacBook Pro.
