...good ones in MoreliaI need to find a good pet shop that sells airline travel cases, not those flimsy ones for pets a la Paris Hilton. It needs to fit under the seat and still be big enough for the animal....cat. There used to be an excellent pet shop in the plaza where Soriana del Rio is, but it vanished just after Christmas.
Any suggestions that are not too far from the centro i.e. Camelinas or even Chapultepec area would be appreciated. |
My wife and I, who both own Dell laptops purchased in the US (with International Warranties--very important), have had superior experiences with service on those computers here in Mexico. We both needed service on our three year plus laptops. In both cases, we phoned Dell support in the US, they connected us with Dell Latin America, and within three business days, a Dell service tech arrived at our home with the parts needed and repaired our systems. Dell has lots of the business computing market in Morelia, and have several... |
Going back to 2008, we had the luck that someone highly recommended Hotel Meson de San Antonio as a place to stay in Patzcuaro: www.mesondesanantonio.comWe have now stayed there on three consecutive trips and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Wonderful management and a great place to stay! Photos: |
Casa de la Real Aduana Boutique Hotelhttp://www.realaduana.com/hotel/Seems to be one of the more upscale and expensive Pátzcuaro hotels located about half a block off Plaza Vasco de Quiroga. Maybe a bit out of my usual price range, I believe over $200us, but we pop-in from Morelia from time to time to spend a couple days relaxing in Pátzcuaro... |

Here's hoping to find a sports bar/cantina where they will show these games live in Pátzcuaro... |
Renting is... interesting, to say the least. Anything you are likely to find online is probably over-priced or will be a major unknown. The best advice I might offer to someone coming here to live for the first time is to find something on one of the gringo expat group sites for short-term then put out all your feelers and look around for something more permanent after you arrive. Often the best deal, the most wonderful place, might just have a little hand-written sign in the window or someone in a local tienda you tells about something available by word-of-mouth. As much of a paradise... |
An Amigo writes to our Morelia_Amigos Yahoogroups board: Several people expressed an interest in this hotel (Villa Don Manuel ) in Barra de Potosi, near the Ixtapa-Zihua airport. So here is the updated website where you can see their lovely rooms and general area. http://zihuatanejo.net/villadonmanuel/ |
This has been quite a long time now but I had a difficult time finding a pasta maker. When bringing everything you can to Mexico by way of flight bags and when I finally drove my car down, there is just so little room and not enough for everything. Don't worry, they all say, everything you need you can find here. That is just not always true. Perhaps I could find everything I NEED, and after some time looking maybe I could find most everything I would like to have here. I am just fortunate I live in a big city like Morelia where I finally found ONE store that had pasta makers.

La Vida Tranquila Near TzintzuntzanOur landlords have two small, unfurnished houses to rent. They are located at the foot of a mountain some 20 minutes from Pátzcuaro or a bit less from Tzintzuntzan. These are both in a small ranching community, but up the hill a bit from the main population and away from the main, fully paved access road. There is regular combi service during the day, and the stop is a block or so away.
There is one house set apart from the others (from here referred to as la Casa Amarilla.) It has four modest sized rooms, a large fenced yard, secure parking and well water. Water costs are... |
We just recently moved out of the Centro and back into the home I have been remodelling for the past year or so. We had furniture, appliances, boxes of stuff, and even more odds and ends. Besides that, there is just nowhere to park in the Cento except early in the morning and better yet on Sunday.
You can find movers at Plaza Carrillo there by Abasolo and Av Lázaro Cárdenas. They are there to move you like "right now" or at your convenience. You can find them there by their moving vans parked at the plaza. We needed them Sunday morning at 7am and they were there at that time... |
